Once again – we celebrated Independence Day at the Piano Source in Albuquerque. Westside Sound Big Band has just re-released a video of our performance of “Armed Forces Salute.” This salute honors our armed forces and veterans, and includes hymns for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. We hope you enjoy it – as much as we enjoyed making it.
Judy Garland made this song famous – “You Made Me Love You.” This re-edited edition also includes two other highlights:
- The lively “The Opener,”
- and Sammy Nestico’s “Groovin’ Easy.”
“Drums Must Never Stop” is one of our audience’s most popular videos – This video highlights the unusual comic and musical talents of our bass player, James Whiton. Take it away – James.
Over the past year, our viewers on youtube have watched our Harry James “Two O’clock Jump” video the most times of any of our videos. So we thought it should be refreshed, and re-edited. The new video has four highlights from our performances, including:
* Jazz standard “Birdland,”
* Glenn Miller’s “St. Louis Blues March,”
* Latin flavored “Temptation,”
* and Harry James’ “Two O’Clock Jump.”
Once a year, the Wild West rides again here in Albuquerque. Westside Sound Big Band’s contribution is from our Western Night celebration in our rendition of Hank William’s country classic “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” ENJOY.
